Activity 2.2 Maintain SFFI Website in Communicating SFM and Progress of the Bill.

The SMDC was hired on December 1, 2020 following screening process. Immediately, the social media domain (www.sffi.orh.ph) was reviewed and recommendations were discussed by the SMDC to the Project Team. As a result, the layout enhancement is continuing (See Annex 19) enabling quick visibility of updates especially posting of accomplishments and news articles (See Annex 20, 21, 22, 23, 24 & 25). The SMDC also joins SFFI field activities when deemed necessary and practical.

Activity 2.3 Expand virtual advocacy through social media.

The SFM advocacy activities and updates on the passage of the SFM Bill) were posted in the SFFI Website and in the SFFI social media account (FB). To date six materials have been posted in the Facebook account (www.facebook.com/sffi.org.ph) that already has 3,909 followers (See Annex 26). These have been providing healthy interactions with fellow foresters and other followers of the SFFI social media account, and provided the PMT feedbacks on accomplishments and updates posted.

Activity 2.4 Promote SFM Bill through Webinar.

In lieu of the annual National Conference, the SFFI conducted the six-part webinar series themed Forest Trek: A Deep Search into the Forest for the Nation’s Recovery, with cooperation with the FAO-EU-FLEGT Programme. Webinar topics were recommended, discussed, and agreed during Project Team discussions and are deemed “essential” to implementing SFM in case the law is paased.
